Anna Malle Attraction

God bless you, Anna Malle! You were one of the most popular performers of the 90s, and you still have legions of fans to this day (that eye-rolling thing you did rocked!).

I remember first seeing you on HBO's Real Sex, why, it must be going on over eight years now. I remember thinking, after that piece, that you weren't a pornstar phony and that you actually lived the life you portrayed and espoused on film. RIP, because you've certainly done more than your fair share for your industry.

(More of her bio.)

Pornstar Info: Say It Isn't So, Kiki

I really don't have any breaking news or commentary on recent events (sort of) for this entry, so it's going to be shorter than my usual ones. I'm just posting because I only recently found out definitively that one of my favorite pornstars, Kiki D'aire, is indeed married.

I'd raised the issue concerning what had happened to her as far back as this post in July of last year. Well, she has quit the biz and moved to Louisiana. And, ironically, I'd just mentioned two posts ago that I don't jerk off to the images of married (or engaged) porn starlets nor dead ones.

So consider this entry as catharsis, if you will: a display of some of the Kiki material that I have at my disposal (you can read into that what you will :)), before I purge my hard drive of all traces I have of her image and likeness.

What You Crave

Did anyone see the Oprah piece yesterday on former-child-star-turned-pornstar Jaimee Foxworth ? It was a compelling story; it would have been a more compelling one if Ms. Foxworth had told the whole truth.

For anyone who doesn’t know her story (or didn’t click the link provided and read her story), she was on the sitcom Family Matters from the age of about 10 to 14. After she left the show (actually, she was written off the show for reasons we don’t need to get into), the big sitcom money stopped rolling in and she became broke. Long story short, she turned to pornography to make a quick buck.

According to Ms. Foxworth’s version, she walked in for an alleged “modeling” gig, only to find out when she was there that it was really an adult shoot. Since she was drunk (again, in her own words) and she really needed the money, she decided to shoot the porn scene anyway.

Now here’s where her story breaks down, because I did a little research on her story after I watched the piece. To hear her tell it, the extent of her porn career was this one scene on this day. Furthermore, Jaimee said that she shot the scene with a woman (Cherry Rain, I checked) because she had a choice between doing a boy/girl scene or lesbian scene and she chose the latter.

But according to the very well-established adult database IAFD - whose word I would believe in a milli-second over anyone else’s - a scene she is credited with in a certain movie has her performing opposite a male star, in addition to a woman. By the way, as an adult performer she went by the name of Crave.

Now, before I forget, I should mention that Ms. Foxworth claimed that her lone scene had been duplicated in more than one hundred skin flicks. There appears to be some truth to that. There are several porn movies titles “starring” her that also include the aforementioned man and woman (I haven‘t actually seen the movies, so I‘m going to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that those two are in Jaimee‘s particular scene in each movie.)

And I know how adult producers and movie makers are: they can take one shoot and make it go a long way. One part of the production could wind up in one film; another segment of the shoot could end up in another adult film; meanwhile, many clips/snippets seem to find itself all over the internet on adult sites everywhere.

So while Ms. Foxworth could be telling the truth (and most likely is) about the producers of her scene getting a lot of mileage out of that one shoot, it still doesn’t change the fact that she lied about (I should say that she omitted) the fact that she later on that day had a scene with a man.

Being the curious person that I am, I didn’t just take the IAFD’s word for it. According to the boxcover photo below (I know parts of the photo are censored but for the most part you can still make out what many of the censored body parts are), where her likeness appears several times, you can see that she did indeed have something to do with a penis.

You kind of got the feeling , just watching the interview, that she was hiding something. I say that for 2 reasons. One, Jaimee says she walked into the (supposed) modeling gig drunk to begin with, and that her judgment was impaired. I’m not saying that it never happens (and besides, she claimed she‘d been battling alcoholism since she‘d fallen on hard financial times), but why would one go into an apparent legitimate gig intoxicated from the start knowing this might be one’s big break?

You might have a chaser or two for breakfast, but not enough to get you drunk. That - i.e, drink heavily - sounds like something you would do to steel your nerves once you found out you were about to do something shady (in your opinion) that you’d never done before.

Second of all, the old “I was drunk” line is a classic way of mitigating your responsibility for your actions: it‘s too pat an answer. Listen, could she have been fall-down drunk when she came for her “modeling “ shoot? Absolutely. Could everything else she said to Oprah, besides the sex partner issue, have been true (including the ridiculous assertion that she didn‘t think the public would find out, at least for a few years) ? Of course.

But in my opinion, she doesn’t deserve the benefit of that doubt. If she isn’t owning up to having sex on-screen with a man in addition to a woman (as if having a lesbian scene is more wholesome to her), what else isn’t she saying? Most likely, it's the fact that she probably shot more than one scene, and on more than one day. I personally crave a definitive answer to the issue...

Blue Moon

Congratulations to Lexington Steele and Vanessa Blue who recently announced they were engaged to be married. They made the announcement this past weekend during the 2006 AVN Awards festivities. I guess I’d better get all my Vanessa Blue masturbation done...

Let me explain: I masturbate to porn as much as the next guy (unless that next guy is Pee Wee Herman…) but as a rule, I make it a point not to jerk off to the images of both married starlets and dead starlets. In the case of the former group of women, it’s a personal religious thing with me that has to do with adultery (and that in itself deserves a little more explanation, but that’s beyond the scope of this sex blog).

In the latter case, jerking off to dead pornstars is just plain creepy to me; especially if the specific porn star died tragically (e.g. car crash) or in another manner (e.g. drug overdose) way before her time. But, I digress...

Without further ado, my self-pleasuring tribute to Miss Blue:

Porn News: Award Winners

If you have any decent amount of interest in the adult industry (and haven’t been living under a rock or in a cave in Afghanistan ) you know that the 2006 AVN (porn) Awards were held this past Saturday in Vegas (where else?).

I did a little prognostic preview on the awards show more than a month ago, so I’ll try to summarize how well I did in that respect. I shall do my best to conveniently forget most of the predictions that I completely had no clue on. :) As it is, this will probably be the last time I do all that predicting business. I’ll just stick to saying who I hope wins.

Pirates director Joone and New Devil in Miss Jones director Paul Thomas won in each of their directorial categories - for Video and Film, respectively - as I thought they would.

Both Best DVD Menus and Best DVD Extras awards went to Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre , which I’ve said before that I have no problem with whatsoever.

Best Actress in a Film to Savanna Sampson? I’ve said before that I think she’s a very good sexual performer but I didn’t think she deserved a nomination in this category, much less a win. However, she did take up the role of probably the single most famous character ever in porndom (Miss Jones)...

Best All-Girl Scene went to the one with Jenna Jameson and Sampson in New Devil . It’s a very good scene (like I said, Sampson is a damn good performer) so I don’t have that big a quarrel with the choice. I thought a scene between Jameson and Tawny Roberts in Last Girl Standing was slightly better. But again the “Miss Jones” title carries a lot of weight, all other things being equal.

(My Completely Biased Fan Moment: I’m glad Katja Kassin won something - for Best Solo Sex Scene in Anal Showdown . I didn’t even see this particular performance, but I love her: her ass is out of this world! Moving on...)

Jameson won Best Cross-Over Star, ho-hum. Like I said before, they should just name the award after her and call it a day.

Best Retail Website for Rentals went to WantedList.com. I’d comment on that, but I have a history with the site and I don’t have anything really positive to say about them...

I predicted that the Best Renting Title and the Best Selling Title of the year would each go to one of the two major productions (Pirates and New Devil ). Shame on me for not realizing that that award encompasses rentals and sales (respectively) for a whole calendar year. Both Pirates and New Devil came out in late Summer / early Autumn.

So after all that went wrong with my picks for the show, what is the moral of the AVN awards? Much like with the adult performers’ wardrobes at the event, you just never know how the awards presentations are going to go.

Wouldn’t That Be (O’) Lovely?

Olivia O’Lovely has got to be the Rodney Dangerfield (God rest his soul) of the porn industry: she seems to get no respect.

Actually, I should clear that up a little. Among the fans, from the major adult message boards that I visit, she’s just as popular as anyone in porn. But in the eyes of the powers that be, for some reason, she doesn’t seem to get her due. I say this, principally, for 3 reasons.

First of all, take this year’s Porn Hot 100 list put out by Genesis Magazine. You mean to tell me Ms. Olivia couldn’t crack this list? There can’t be that many starlets hotter than her. She is without a doubt one of the most popular performers in each of two major niches of porn - big butt and Latina.

Yet for some reason this doesn’t translate officially. The second reason I think she doesn’t get her just desserts: I was listening to the Listener’s Choice Awards over at KSEX radio the other day, where they honored the best and brightest of their porn jockeys (for lack of a better term). And would you believe, in the category of Best Figure, Ms. O’Lovely did not win? I could tell who did win (*cough*, Katie Morgan, *cough*), but that‘s not the focus of this piece.

The point is, she didn’t even make the top 5 in the voting results. Now, I can’t think of more than four people in all of porn who have a better figure than her; much less think of four people at KSEX. Olivia’s got ‘em coming (I was going for a big boob and big ass expression, but it’s a nice pun anyway) and going.

(*With mock indignation*) Where’s the justice here? Maybe all those OO fans out there just aren’t voicing their opinions loud enough. (Don’t look at me: I voted for her at the KSEX radio polls.) I have to give her fans props for one thing. They did express their interest in having her - along with Flower Tucci - do an encore shoot over at AssParade, and the BangBros listened.

Lastly, and the reason for this write-up in the first place, who does this woman have to sleep with (hehe) to get a contract? I think she deserves one. You mean to tell me with all those fake boobs running around at Vivid Entertainment, they don’t have room for one more set? Or does Vivid have their Latina quota - in Malezia and Mercedez - so they’re good to go?

What about Wicked Pictures? Don’t they have room in their stable of stars for a token Spanish girl? And it certainly wouldn’t hurt Digital Playground’s image to get a little ethnic diversity either. (Heck, now that Tera Patrick‘s left DP, I think they could use anyone who didn‘t have blond hair.)

And before you go thinking I’m getting more bent out of shape over this issue than the person I’m fighting for, check out what Ms. O’ Lovely said herself in a recent exclusive interview. (Select from videos on the right hand side of the destination page. Each video is only available for a limited time, so Olivia’s feature may no longer be there by the time you read this.) She’s been in the business for 4 years now, and she says in the interview that she’d probably retire in another two if she weren’t under contract.

So I say to any interested studio head who is in charge of such matters, let’s keep Ms. Olivia O’Lovely around as long as possible. That’d be nice, wouldn’t it?

Adult Trafficking

How slick are those guys at Adult Friend Finder and at ImageCash?

For those who don’t know, AFF is one of many sites in the Friend Finder network of dating sites, which include individual sites for Spanish-speaking people, seniors seeking love, people of alternative lifestyles who seek like-minded persons, etc. AFF is the network’s strictly adult site for those who are basically interested in, for lack of a better term, “hooking up.”

So anyway, the AFF affiliate program (along with that of other sites in the network) is huge to say the least: I see their links on porn sites all over the place. They pay affiliates, in one version of the program, just to send click-throughs in their direction. Think of it as Google Adwords for adult webmasters.

What gets me is that they only pay you , the webmaster , half of one cent to refer a surfer to their site. Half of a penny! And that’s only per unique IP address. So if a surfer clicks on a link that leads to their site the first time, even if he clicks on that same link many more times in a space of - I don’t know - one hour, the webmaster who placed that link only gets his measly 0.5 cents. Who knows? That unique IP address may remain such for life…

Now here’s where the folks at AFF (specifically) make out like bandits: if they were to run a pay-per-click advertising campaign with any reputable advertising giant (e.g Google Adwords, sex.com, Overture, MIVA), the minimum they could expect to spend is 3 cents per click (at sex.com). Moreover, several of those sites don’t guarantee targeted traffic; meaning that the sites where your ads are displayed are not necessarily geared towards an adult-minded audience.

Trust me on this one, because I’ve basically tried (and am still currently trying) all those PPC advertising sites. The conversion rates in terms of sales generated per certain number of clicks are not all that for many of the sites.

On the other hand, when an AFF link or banner is placed at an adult site (because for the most part a webmaster would only place an AFF advert on his adult site. If he didn‘t specifically have an adult-themed site, it would make more sense for him to promote one of the other FF sites.), not only is the AFF cost of advertising much cheaper (half a cent), their traffic is very much of a targeted, niche variety.

And at this stage in the game, they can pretty much get away with it. Like I said before, AFF has notoriety on their side. Webmasters in the porn industry are not allowed to sign up for the Adsense program (because Google forbids it). So it’s pretty much common knowledge in the industry that AFF (and a couple of other adult-themed sites in its network) is the place to look to first if you want to get paid cash for your traffic.

Similarly, for those who don’t know, ImageCash is an image hosting website that pays you when a surfer clicks over to their website to view an image you’ve uploaded. How will the surfer know what image he’s clicking through to see, you ask? The link is a (most times) smaller preview version of the actual photo. What you do usually is post that preview at a message board or on your website.

The issue (I hesitate to say problem because it all depends on your perspective) is that ImageCash only pays you at the rate of $1 for 6666 image views (now it is me, or does just the pay scale itself sound evil and wrong with all of those 6s?). And that translates to about 0.15 of a cent. That’s the bad news. The good news is that you can host adult images there, and if your photos are particularly appealing, you can rack up the image views rather quickly.

The difference between ImageCash and AFF is (I believe) that the former pays you for every single view of your uploaded photo, no matter how many times a single viewer may click on the same preview image. However, much like with AFF, for lack of a suitable alternative, ImageCash is the most popular way I know of to get paid cash just for sending traffic (in this case, for image views).

High volume for low pay: yes, the Walmart model of business success is alive and well on the net.
