Wouldn’t That Be (O’) Lovely?
Olivia O’Lovely has got to be the Rodney Dangerfield (God rest his soul) of the porn industry: she seems to get no respect.
Actually, I should clear that up a little. Among the fans, from the major adult message boards that I visit, she’s just as popular as anyone in porn. But in the eyes of the powers that be, for some reason, she doesn’t seem to get her due. I say this, principally, for 3 reasons.
First of all, take this year’s Porn Hot 100 list put out by Genesis Magazine. You mean to tell me Ms. Olivia couldn’t crack this list? There can’t be that many starlets hotter than her. She is without a doubt one of the most popular performers in each of two major niches of porn - big butt and Latina.
Yet for some reason this doesn’t translate officially. The second reason I think she doesn’t get her just desserts: I was listening to the Listener’s Choice Awards over at KSEX radio the other day, where they honored the best and brightest of their porn jockeys (for lack of a better term). And would you believe, in the category of Best Figure, Ms. O’Lovely did not win? I could tell who did win (*cough*, Katie Morgan, *cough*), but that‘s not the focus of this piece.
The point is, she didn’t even make the top 5 in the voting results. Now, I can’t think of more than four people in all of porn who have a better figure than her; much less think of four people at KSEX. Olivia’s got ‘em coming (I was going for a big boob and big ass expression, but it’s a nice pun anyway) and going.
(*With mock indignation*) Where’s the justice here? Maybe all those OO fans out there just aren’t voicing their opinions loud enough. (Don’t look at me: I voted for her at the KSEX radio polls.) I have to give her fans props for one thing. They did express their interest in having her - along with Flower Tucci - do an encore shoot over at AssParade, and the BangBros listened.
Lastly, and the reason for this write-up in the first place, who does this woman have to sleep with (hehe) to get a contract? I think she deserves one. You mean to tell me with all those fake boobs running around at Vivid Entertainment, they don’t have room for one more set? Or does Vivid have their Latina quota - in Malezia and Mercedez - so they’re good to go?
What about Wicked Pictures? Don’t they have room in their stable of stars for a token Spanish girl? And it certainly wouldn’t hurt Digital Playground’s image to get a little ethnic diversity either. (Heck, now that Tera Patrick‘s left DP, I think they could use anyone who didn‘t have blond hair.)
And before you go thinking I’m getting more bent out of shape over this issue than the person I’m fighting for, check out what Ms. O’ Lovely said herself in a recent exclusive interview. (Select from videos on the right hand side of the destination page. Each video is only available for a limited time, so Olivia’s feature may no longer be there by the time you read this.) She’s been in the business for 4 years now, and she says in the interview that she’d probably retire in another two if she weren’t under contract.
So I say to any interested studio head who is in charge of such matters, let’s keep Ms. Olivia O’Lovely around as long as possible. That’d be nice, wouldn’t it?
