20 Questions, Live and Direct style
I watched the Rita Cosby Live and Direct show on the topic of Porn Valley and I wanted to discuss it. Then I realized that the piece raised more questions in my mind than it answered. Note that a lot of these queries are of a rhetorical nature…
1.) When they said 20% of (American, I believe) men view pornography at work, what does that really mean? If only, say, a quarter (25%) of all men have access, opportunity, or time to engage in porn at work in the first place, then that 20% figure doesn‘t really say much…
2.) Why do both porn producers and parents always try to put the burden of restricting the access of minors to porn on the other party? On the one hand, I heard Steven Hirsch, Vivid Entertainment co-founder and president, claim it’s the parent’s job to monitor their kids. Yet on the other hand, legislators - who are parents in their own right - recently proposed a sin tax bill that would ultimately make some of the proceeds from adult sales pay for the task of shielding underage kids from porn. 3.) Shouldn’t the onus rest on both groups (porn mongers and parents/guardians alike)?
The stats say that , “Seventy percent of men between the ages of 18 and 34 look at porn at least once a month.” 4.) Yes, but what is the average number of times monthly, nay daily, for each man in that group? That would be a really telling stat…
Porn director and cross-dresser Chi Chi Larue spends quite a bit of time going back and forth in terms of dressing as a man and dressing as his female alter-ego. 5.) Since he was sporting some semblance of a beard in the piece does that mean he hasn‘t been a transvestite in a while? 6.) How long does it take this guy to grow a beard, or is he limited to 5 o‘clock shadows for the rest of his cross-dressing days? Not really a socially pressing issue, just something I wondered about since it personally takes me an eternity to grow a beard…
Cosby asked if the presence of adult companies like Vivid was the reason many girls, who eventually never make names for themselves, ruin themselves on booze, drugs, and/or sex in trying to break into the biz (I’m paraphrasing her words). In other words, she wanted to know if porn studios promoted these girls’ bad behavior. 7.) What kind of question is that? A lot of men and women alike go to Hollywood seeking fame and fortune as actors, and a lot of them wind up down and out and ultimately failures. 8.) Should America abolish its movie industry because of that reason?
And concerning the woman (I forget her name) who thought that the whole Rita Cosby Porn Valley show was a puff piece that only showcased the upside of porn, 9.) What bee had gotten into her bonnet? She absolutely had nothing positive to say about porn or anyone involved in the industry. I believe, as the good doctor Laura Berman said, even something like porn has some socially redeeming value.
10.) Incidentally, how many of you actually thought it was a puff piece if you saw it?
11.) Since when did Xobile, a subsidiary of AEBN (which is a well-known online adult payperview content distributor ), start offering movies for the Playstation Portable (PSP)? I really ought to start promoting that fact more extensively…
12.) By the way, how come I can never get an answer from the AEBN webmaster in reply to the many e-mails that I - as an affiliate of their program - send to him? (This question really has nothing to do with the show on MSNBC; it’s just an expression of how pissed off I am…)
13.) Does anyone know who Stephanie Morgan (I hope I got that name right), who was featured so prominently in the piece, is? She’s supposed to be some reasonably well-known pornstar who’s been in the porn biz for a while now but I can’t even find her name in the International Adult Film Database (iafd.com)…
14.) While we’re seeking identities, who the devil was that gorgeous chick who was with Mercedez in the piece? They referred to her as Lac(e)y but I’m not absolutely sure how that’s spelled or what her last name is. 15.) How am I supposed to find more pictures of and jerk off to someone whose last name I don’t know? (A rather tongue-in-cheek question but a question none-the-less…)
15.) And I bet you didn’t know so many people were involved in your “private” online chat session with your favorite cyber-girl, did you? All of those people monitoring the bank of computers and relaying your dirty little requests to the performers…
16.) Did anyone know that veteran porn actor (and one of my heroes, I might add) Randy Spears is married with children? And apparently he has been so for a long time now. 17.) Would his current relationship, in its early beginnings, have coincided at all with the one that he had with Tera Patrick? ;)
And while I’m on the subject of Spears, if I hear one more straight male pornstar say that their profession isn’t all it’s cracked up to be (as I heard in the piece), I’m going to bellow. 18.) Who do they think they’re fooling? I realize that they are pros at what they do but the actors are certainly not hanging around for the pay; so it must be for the endless amount of sex with beautiful babes…
19.) Who knew that there existed a pair of real breasts among the Vivid girls (at least I think they’re real) in the person of Monique Alexander? Just kidding (kind of): there might be another 3 or 4 pairs among all 32 or so of the girls…
20.) Finally, is it me or does Ms. Cosby look like she could be a porn starlet herself? She certainly has that blond, bubbly personality thing happening and she’s by no means hard to look at. I’m just throwing the idea out there…
