Pornstar Intervention?

On Thursday, Tyra Banxxx (the pornstar) actually appeared on her feet and in broad daylight on the daytime show of her namesake Tyra (supermodel) Banks. Apparently, Ms. Banks got wind of the porn star who looked like her and whose name sounded like hers and she wanted to get to the bottom of the matter.



Long story short, while on the show, Banks offered to help Banxxx get a “legitimate” job if she (Banxxx) gave up her life of porn. In any event, Banks said she would sue Banxxx if the latter didn’t stop profiting from the host’s name recognition and looks. (As you can see from the pic, courtesy of EURweb , the two do resemble each other a lot.) So it’s not like the pornstar has much of a choice in her consideration of the host‘s offer.

This is good. I like this whole “mainstream celebrity meets adult industry alter-ego” hook-up. So here are some stories I want to hear or read about in the near future:

Britney Rears will be going out on tour with Britney Spears as one of the pop phenom’s back-up dancers; Cindy Crawford (the model) is looking to help Cindy Crawford (the pornstress) get a spokes model deal with the good folks at Pepsi; and Ariana Jollee gets adopted by Angelina Jolie. (I realize those latter two names aren‘t all that similar, but if you heard the name “Ariana Jollee” who is the first person you’d think of?)

And how does Banks threaten Banxxx to get her good name back, while Cindy Crawford the supermodel takes no action - legal or otherwise - against a pornstar with her exact same name? Unless I’ve missed something...
